This is a large file (41 MB--about 2.5 minutes to download with cable) because it contains the entire USDA (SR 17) database.  Intentionally, no macros are used in this sheet.

It is easy to use.  Enter the original servings and the desired servings.  Ingredients are also easy to add.  Simply enter the ingredient name or part of a name.  The entire database of over 6500 ingredients is scanned.  You choose your ingredient from the match list then select a unit and enter an amount.  Everything else is automatic.  Reference data and help are provided.

The ingredient list is from the USDA.  It is comprehensive but does not contain every possible ingredient.

The latest version is 1.1.  This is shareware.  You are free to use it for personal use.  Please contact me for any other use.  This applies to all Suzie's Q calculators unless otherwise stated.

Basic Sausage Formula Calculator Version 1.2

This calculator is designed for sausage recipes.  This is a small (341kb) file.

There is no nutritional information.  Formula percent is calculated (or may be entered manually).  The formula may be manipulated by batch size or by ingredient quantity.

The calculator is used by entering the meat products (meat block), spices (spice blend), and formula ingredients in grams, formula percent, or a mixture of both.  Once the formula is entered, new amounts may be calculated for a given batch size, meat block size, spice blend amount, or ingredient.

Ingredient amounts can be determined based on total batch size or by a limiting ingredient.  For example, if you had 300 grams of pork to use, you would replace the pork percentage with its gram weight.  The remaining ingredient amounts would be recalculated based on the pork weight and a new total batch size would be determined.

Further capabilities are discussed in the help section of the calculator.  In depth help, reference data, and examples are provided.
